This driver is not fully supported on Windows 11 yet.
Reported issues include:
- NVMe drives disappearing or showing twice
- Disk management tools failing to detect volumes
- Application crashes
- No BypassIO support, causing performance issues in DirectStorage games
- Incompatibility with some SSD controllers
- Vendor drivers overriding the new NVMe path
Example:
- Samsung 970 EVO Plus → Uses the new native NVMe driver
- Crucial P3 Plus → Falls back to vendor driver (no change)
If system stability matters more than experimentation, wait.
